How Does It All Work?

Step 1: Book Your Session

We do all of our booking online, so when you are ready to secure your session, you can do so right on our website. At the time of booking you’ll pay your session retainer fee to lock in your session. The session retainer fee does not include prints or products - those are purchased separately at your reveal session. I’m here to guide you through this process - if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I want to answer anything you want to know prior to booking so that you feel that you are confident in your choice to book a session.

Step 2: Your Boudoir Photo Shoot

On the day of the shoot, you’ll come to our studio located a short drive from Scottsdale, AZ. Our hair and makeup team will meet you there and begin getting you all ready for your session. Prior to your session, we’ll review your outfit choices and I will help you make any last-minute selections. When you’re all ready, we’ll get to shooting! I will talk and show you through everything you need to know for your shoot, so no need to stress. This day is meant to be fun, and I promise you’re going to have a blast!

Step 3. Choose Your Images

Your reveal session will take place approximately 2 weeks following your session. At that time, we’ll meet back at the studio to take a look at all of your images. You’ll get to view your images, choose your favorites that you would like to purchase, and order any luxury albums or products that you would like. Orders take approximately 2 weeks to come in after being placed.

I don't look like a model. Do you work with everyday women?

Everyday women are ALL we work with. Each lady who comes to our studio is just like you, with their own unique insecurities about themselves and their bodies. Boudoir photography is a unique form of art that allows you to see yourself from a brand new angle. You will see a beauty of yourself that was always there, but you likely overlooked. A boudoir experience is truly a transformational experience. 

A boudoir session will help you let go of the insecurities you have built up once and for all.

I don't know how to pose. Will you guide me during my session?

Of course! That’s my job. You do not have to know a thing about posing upon walking into the studio. I will show you where to look, how to place your hands, the direction to pose your feet, and every other little detail that helps create stunning images. I’ll even show you what I want you to do! I will do what it takes to make you feel confident in your posing throughout your session. Please do not stress about this beforehand!

I'm a plus-size woman—should I lose some weight before my shoot?

Your body is beautiful, no matter your body type. You absolutely should not lose weight for your session. I have experience photographing women of all shapes and sizes, and I will make you feel just as beautiful as every other one. I will pose you in ways that show off your favorite features but don’t be surprised if I help you discover some new things about yourself that you didn’t know you loved. I will capture your genuine, sexy self in a way that will forever change the way you view yourself. Now is good as ever to embark on this journey. 

What should I wear for my boudoir photo session?

The options are endless when choosing wardrobe pieces for your session! My clients choose anything from black basics to silky sets to nude. Let your personality shine through the pieces you choose. When you book a session, we will provide you with a lingerie-style guide to help guide you in your choices if you are feeling stuck. We will also have a phone consultation to help you plan ahead. When it comes to choosing your wardrobe, remember that boudoir photography is less about the outfits you choose, and more about you. This art focuses on your body and the way it is shaped by the light. Don’t worry about choosing the perfect pieces, you are going to look incredible in anything you choose!

Will my photos be on your website? Can my photos be private?

Your photos will only be shared if you give our studio written permission to do so. We take your personal privacy very seriously, and will only share what is released by you to do so. Any images you see that we have shared have been permitted by the client. We love showing off our work to inspire others, but will always respect your privacy in regards to this matter.

Where will my Boudoir session take place?

Boudoir sessions take place at Femme Art Boudoir’s studio, located a short drive from Scottsdale, AZ. We have selected a central, convenient location to make it easy for our clients to access. Our studio is a one-stop shop, so your hair and makeup is done right on-site prior to your session. Our studio was designed for boudoir photography, and is equipped with a variety of lighting, backdrops, and sets that allow us to capture the array of images you see in our portfolio. Our studio is a private space, so you can feel comfortable and at ease during your visit.
