What NOT to Bring to your Boudoir Session for Stunning Results

A lot of you may be wondering what to bring to your boudoir session, but have you ever thought about what not to bring?

If you’ve been following along with me for any time, you should know that I believe in the simplicity of boudoir photography. That being said, there are quite a few items you should leave at home when it’s time for your session. The most important thing that you bring for you session is YOU - in your true, authentic state. Aside from that, if you want to bring a few sexy lingerie pieces, wonderful - the rest can probably be left at home.

Props in Boudoir Photography

Boudoir photography focuses on your skin the way the light shapes your body. By including Props in your boudoir photos, viewers will be distracted from the main focus of the image. Boudoir photography is meant to focus on YOU, and how beautiful and sexy your body is in its natural state.

There is no need to bring any props to your session. Our studio has everything needed to capture those gorgeous, sexy images you have been longing for.

Less is more in boudoir.

Why Skip Jerseys in Your Boudoir Session?

For similar reasons as props, jerseys and boudoir photography are not a good mix. Why cover up when investing in something meant to show your body?

I often get asked about jerseys. As a boudoir photographer, I want to photograph your body. Your body is beautiful, and that’s what I’m going to show you during your session.

Save the jerseys for game day, and forego them in the studio. If you really want to bring one we will totally take some shots in it!

Inspiration from Other Photographers

Each and every photographer has his or her own style, which is likely very well represented throughout their galleries. Their style is probably the reason you chose the photographer you did! When searching for inspiration for your shoot, you should be referring to your respective photographer’s gallery.

Bringing inspiration from other photographers is not helpful to YOUR photographer. If you want to bring any inspiration shots to your shoot, be sure to bring one’s that are the work of your own photographer. But, bringing inspiration is not necessary - we’re the experts and will pose you in ways that flatter your body best, and display your true beauty. I promise you are going to absolutely LOVE your photos!
